The Chairman, Muslim Parents' Forum University of Ibadan International School also known as International School Ibadan, ISI, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun in a press statement has expressed disappointment over what played out at a meeting on the premises of International School Ibadan ISI today.
He stated that the parents of the Muslim students, attended the emergency meeting convened by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the International School Ibadan (ISI)
Abdur-Rahman Balogun added that
the coordinators of the meeting tried to maintain decorum at meeting , but the parents who were opposed to the stand of the Muslim parents took it upon themselves to always shout down Muslims who expressed opinions different from theirs; whereas they hail those who support their opinions.
According to Balogun " It got to a point where they prevented the chairman of the Muslim forum to speak. Instead of being involved in the commotion they created, the Muslim parents walked out of the meeting.
We hereby resolved that: We shall not succumb to the pressure of some of the PTA members at the meeting who were poised to force their opinions on the meeting.
The Muslim parents shall never be bound by whatever resolution reached at that meeting".
The Muslim Parents' Forum further called on people of goodwill to intervene on the University of Ibadan school authority to prevent any illegal action the may affect the fundamental rights of our children.
"We appeal to the sense of fairness and justice of people of conscience to let logic and rationality prevail." Balogun urged
