Dr.Abubakar Bukola Saraki and The Face of A Purpose-Driven SENATE

By Emmanuel Ajibulu

Reiterating for the umpteenth time the unprecedented achievements of the 8th SENATE under the esteemed leadership of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki are a testament to courage, selflessness, thoroughness, statesmanship, and patriotism through an iconic brand that is consistently saddled with vision, purpose and precision.Over the years political environment is somewhat perceived to be synonymous with sweet promises most of which are not achievable. This discrepancy leads to loss of trust in political leadership. Painfully, such pattern is common in our clime. However,it is sweet to note that the narrative is changing for good through the current Senate President,Dr.Abubakar Bukola Saraki,he has proved to be an exception, one of the steadfast persons that keep to their promises. His emergence as the Senate president made him chairman of the National Assembly,a position that is strategic and core in rebuilding the legislative arm of government to let people have the feel of true and genuine representation. It's on record that, since his emergence as the Senate president, and in keeping to terms with the public mandate that produced him,he made it a point of duty to post weekly activities of the upper legislative chamber. This rare feat is in keeping to terms with principle of running an open administration as the Senate of the people to enable input from members of the society and to show his commitment to transparency and public accountability. At a time when too many of our institutions have let us down, Saraki's leaderhsip style exceeds all expectations.Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki is not consumed with personal ambition and he ensures his colleagues are essentially not obsessed over their differences. They focus on the mission at hand. They work together that is the story of today's Nigerian Senate. In a profound and clear terms, Nigeria can only be effectively and sufficiently great if we work as a team,it can be great again if we get each other's backs. And if we hold fast to that truth,in this moment of trial, there is no challenge too great; no mission too hard.As long as we're joined in common purpose, as long as we maintain our common resolve, our journey moves forward, our future is hopeful, and the state of our Union will always be stronger.Without contradiction Nigeria needs more of Saraki in our body politic to foster the much needed paradigm shift (CHANGE)that our country desires.May God bless and prosper Nigeria.
