Niger State Governor,Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has assured investors and small business owners in the United States of the administration’s determination to improve on quality and quantity of supply in the Shea-butter value-chain Governor Sani Bello gave this assurance at Niger State Business Roundtable on Agriculture with particular focus on Shea butter, organized by African Caribbean Business Council of Greater Philadelphia (ACDBC) in Philadelphia, United State.The Governor who stated that he was in Philadelphia to meet with genuine partners said the State already has a master-plan on meeting international standard and best practices in the Shea-butter value-chain.“We are committed to improving the quality and quantity of the Shea butter value-chain. We already have a road map on how to meet international standards and best practices. We are working on a short, medium and long term plan which is to include cultivation, storage, processing and packaging for both local and international market.” “I am very optimistic that Niger state and Philadelphia will build an enduring and mutually beneficial relationship for our citizens.Niger state and Philadelphia have a lot in common especially in the area of agriculture. Shea butter is a major raw material in Niger state we are determined to harnessed to make it commercially viable.” Governor Sani Bello assured the investors of his commitment to taking through the partnership and expressed his willingness open discussion on whole agricultural value-chain.“ Even though our focus on this roundtable is Shea butter my discussion has extended to other farm produce such as soya beans and sesame seeds which is a good development.” In their separate remarks , Chairman, African and Caribbean Business Council of greater Philadelphia, Council woman Jannie Blackwell, State Senator Shariif Street and Deputy City Treasurer adding that Christopher Dunbar commended investment drive of Governor Sani Bello and assured him of their cooperation.“Philadelphia is centrally located City and connects to the mid-western states and Canada. We look forward to an engaging with home of the richest and best Shea butter .”On Governor Sani Bello delegation were Member, Niger State House of Assembly, Representing Bida 11 and Chairman House Committee on Works,Hon.Mohammed Alhaji Haruna,Chief of Staff,Hon Mikhail Al-Amin Bmitosahi,Commissioner for Investment , Hajiya Ramatu Yar’adua, Commissioner for Finance,Hon.
