Niger State Governor,Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello on Thursday assured Igbo community living in the state THAT there is no cause for alarm over the alleged 1st October quit notice by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF).He gave the assurance when he hosted the Igbo community in the state led by Eze Ndigbo Minna, Eze Pampers Ngozi Wahiwe, in his office in Minna. "There is no cause for alarm for our Igbo brothers and sisters in Niger State.Niger state is one of the safest and most peaceful state in Nigrria. I am not loosing sleep over the matter and you people shouldn't either. "Be rest assured that Niger State Government will do everything to protect and ensure the safety of the Igbo community and indeed all the residents of the state."The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.We have gone a long way.Our fore fathers sacrificed to make the country what it is today. We should see ourselves as one and people must be allowed freedom to move freely".Alhaji Sani Bello said. Governor Sani Bello condemned series of hate speeches that have been on and advised that utterances that are capable of over heating the polity and peaceful co-existence as a nation should stop forthwith."How to improve our commerce and partnership should dominate our discussions and not our differences.As a nation we should go beyond ethnic or tribal division and partner together to move the country forward," the governor advised.Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello noted that decades of living together by all and sundry has not only bounded our national unity but it had led to inter-cultural marriages and joint business ventures. "Where do you want somebody that has been living or was born in a place Fourty to Fifty years ago to go? Those who inter-married, where do you want them to go, "the governor asked.Earlier in his speech Eze Wahiwe said Igbos in the state identified with the position of the South East governors on unity of the country and expressed their resolve for peaceful co-existence with Nigerlites. He then demanded for government protection from the quit order handed down to all the Igbos in the northern part of the country by 1st of October.Wahiwe commended the leadership qualities and style of Governor Sani Bello and pledged continued loyalty of his people to the constituted authority in the state.
