Alleged N1.9billion Fraud: Why Court Struck Out Charges Against Orubebe

An Abuja High Court sitting at Apo yesterday struck out the six count charge  the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission {ICPC]preferred against former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, over alleged N1.97billion contract fraud.
The trial Judge, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi also discharged the defendant after the charge was withdrawn by the prosecutor.
The charge was withdrawn on the day the court earlier gave the anti –graft agency leave to produce its witnesses to establish that Elder Orubebe who served in last administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan diverted funds meant for the compensation of owners of properties on Eket urban section of the East-West road in Eket, Akwa Ibom state
