The President has sworn in Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed as the new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
This follows the suspension of the erstwhile Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, pending the completion of his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The President made the announcement at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mohammed who hails from Bauchi state is the most senior justice of the Supreme Court.
Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad , CON (was born 31 December 1953). He is a Nigerian jurist and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He was formerly a Justice of the Nigerian Court of Appeal .
