Niger Fire Service Commends Gov Sani-Bello ...As Spokespersons Forum Urges Synergy In Security Information Management

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello's efforts at resuscitating and repositioning the state Fire Service have been commended.

The Director of State Fire Service, Alh. Mohhammed Baba Kudu gave the commendation during an advocacy visit by members of Forum of Spokespersons of Critical Institutions in Niger State (FOSCIN), in Minna, the state capital.

The Fire Service boss said Gov. Sani-Bello has remedied the neglect of the service by successive administrations since 1976 and has also improved and strenghtened it activities thereby enbled the discharge of its duties.

Alh. Baba Kudu who commmended Governor Sani Bello for his relentless effort in ensuring that Fire Service in the state was given proper attention, expressed satisfaction with the administration's action plan for the service.

According to him, "this is the first time fire stations in the state have witnessed complete transformation and support since the inception of the state."

He noted that the  state government has rehabilitated and equipped fire service stations in Minna, Bida, Mokwa, Kontagora while two other stations are under construction in Lapai with fire fighting trucks and other necessary facilities.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State Mal. Jibrin Baba Ndace explained that the essence of the forum was to create synergy, coordination and understanding in managing security information in Niger state and Nigeria at large.

Mallam Ndace further explained that Spokespersons of security institutions are committed to the dissemination of accurate information and denouncing the spread of fake news and hate speeches.

He then urged other paramilitary institutions in the state to compliment each other in the management of information and to be actively involved in any activity related to information management in their respective institutions.
