GOV SANI BELLO URGES AHMED IBETO TO END XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS ON NIGERIANS IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Sani Bello has called on Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto to pay particular attention to the well being of Nigerians in the South Africa and engage the government of South Africa in finding possible end to the incessant xenophobic attacks on Nigerians."These attacks have become a major challenge in diplomatic relations between the two countries,hence the need to make concerted efforts to find lasting solutions to the  problem in order to sustain and strengthen the existing mutually beneficial relationship".In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor also advised the new Ambassador to make it a point of duty to correct the misconceptions about the country and to sustain Nigeria's diplomatic tradition with integrity,excellence and professionalism.While wishing Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto success in his new office,Governor Sani Bello urged him to mount aggressive campaign to disabuse the minds of foreigners that Nigeria is not entirely a country full of criminals, terrorists and other vices."You must also project the best image and traditions of the country through your actions and by been fair and just to everyone."We are proudly behind you and would always support you to succeed every step of the way"Alhaji Sani Bello assured.Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello also enjoined Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto to be committed to all his responsibilities and remain an examplary representative of Niger state as he assumed office as the new Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa.Governor Sani Bello expressed profound and unreserved optimism that the APC Chieftain and former Deputy Governor will succeed in his new assignment.The Governor charged the new ambassador to make significant contributions and explore possible areas of bilateral partnership that will, in the end,generate foreign direct investment to the country and the Niger state."We want you to capitalise on the long-standing, reliable partnership between Nigeria and South Africa to establish strong economic cooperation with and woo investors to the state "the Governor said
